Saint Basil’s Sunday School begins classes Sunday, September 9, 2018. The entire Saint Basil parish family warmly welcomes all children, pre-kindergarten through high school, to join us for Sunday School classes immediately following Holy Communion.
You’ll notice some very positive changes we’ve made for our kids’ sake beginning this year.
- We’ve divided the classes into more appropriate age groups. This is to help facilitate a better learning environment for each class level.
- We also begin a brand new 4-year series of Sunday School curriculum this year, whereby all classes will be studying age appropriate versions of the same thing. This year we’ll be covering The Old Testament. Next year is The Gospels, then Church History, and finally The Epistles, Feasts and Sacraments of the Church.
Students will go straight from communion (sometimes accompanied by parents, if need be) to the Church Hall to get their snack and meet up with their teachers.
Our teachers have the most precious regard for the responsibility of instructing Christian youth, and strive to maintain the goals of meeting each of their needs in prayer, faith, and love.
Parents, please make a family commitment to regular participation and attendance in this crucial ministry. Attend the Divine Liturgy on time together each week, as you teach them by your example to invest themselves in their life in Christ.
